Mining Product Updates 26.9 - Drillhole Coordinate Approval Workflow

and super duper cool product improvements!

Written by Hannah Pham

Drillhole Coordinate Approval Workflow

Catch every hole coordinate change before execution, and drill the right hole the first time.

Field conditions often push holes to deviate from their planned coordinates. Sometimes it's access, sometimes terrain or environmental constraints. Previously, those coordinate changes got signed off over phone, email, or verbal instruction. No structured approval, no audit trail, and if a compliance question came up six months later, the coordinate history was a hunt through inboxes and screenshots.

Now, you can bring that sign-off into CorePlan. Field crews propose new coordinates from the mobile app with notes and photos. Geos and planners review, approve, or counter-propose from the web. Every decision is recorded with an auditable trail against the hole.

What it helps you with:

That means fewer wrong holes drilled, faster proposal-to-approval cycles, a defensible record for compliance, and more confidence the rig is drilling exactly what was signed off.

Who can access it

Available for Mining & Exploration Hub customers with the Field Operations Add-on to track field activities from clearing pads to rehab.

Quality of Life Improvements:

Next up are a bunch of small but mighty improvements, with most came directly from your product suggestions. So, thank you for helping make CorePlan better!

Forms & help images

  • Assignees now get an email notification when assigned to a corrective action.

  • See which forms a help image is used on, straight from the Help Images page. This is useful when you are cleaning out your form templates!

Plods & drilling workflow

  • A warning appears in the Plod when drilling intervals are missing.

  • Preview Plods in a side panel without losing your place in the main list (coming soon).

  • The Plod notes box expands as you type, so long notes stay readable without scrolling inside the field.

  • Drill holes can be created in bulk via the Plod importer.

  • Change which drill hole has drilling on it without having to delete and re-add holes.

  • Typing durations into Plod forms now works as expected, without the cursor jumping.

Cost Summary Generator

  • Choose whether to generate your cost reports using your organisation currency or your project currency.

  • Export your Cost Summary in Excel format.

Holes & drill pads

  • See pad names on Earthworks Plod timelines.

  • Archived holes stay hidden on the drill hole page by default. Filter them back in when you need them.

  • Sort the Holes page by Drilling Status or Field Activity Status, ascending or descending.

  • The Hole Details page shows which field activities have forms or attachments against them.

  • The mobile and tablet app map now shows the drill program in each hole's details.

  • The drill pad list CSV exports now include workstreams.

Filters, search, navigation & reporting

  • Select every Minimum Drill Rate activity on a Cost Contract in one click, instead of one by one.

  • The Plod Count Chart holds the top row in place as you scroll, and rig numbers no longer clip on the left.

  • “Select all” options are available for filters on the project overview and global dashboard.

Users, access, and account switching

  • Set your primary account from the triple-dot menu on your user, so it’s the account that loads when you log in. Useful if you work across multiple accounts.

  • Email addresses now show next to names when you add users to a project, so you invite the right person.

Performance

  • Faster loads across the platform: form response list, form builder with lookup lists, saving Plods, Plod detail page, drill pad bulk creation, app project data download, and the Time Utilisation chart.

Keep the product suggestions coming, half this release is your fault (in the best way). See you next time! 🧡
