Important

The CorePlan Contractor Portal is designed specifically for drilling contractors who do not have a full CorePlan account. It allows you to capture and submit daily shift data easily.
If your organisation uses the full Drilling Hub, you'll have access to a complete suite of tools to manage drill operations, track KPIs, handle proforma invoicing, and enjoy smoother collaboration with your clients.

Note: There's no scheduling, or operational workflow in drilling hub.

Introduction

The CorePlan Driller Contractor Portal allows drilling contractors to receive, review and manage daily drilling reports, known as plods. These plods are submitted by drill crews in the CorePlan mobile app and appear in the portal for verification before being forwarded to the client. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for navigating the portal, reviewing plods and approving them for submission.

Global Dashboard

When you log in, you will land on the Global Dashboard. This dashboard lists all projects you have access to within the portal.

From the Global Dashboard you can:

  • View all assigned projects.

  • Select a project to access its plod list.

In addition, the sidebar provides access to the following sections:

Projects

View all projects connected to your contractor organisation. You can see project status, active cost contracts and navigate into each project to view plods.

People

Manage contractor users, roles and cost visibility. You can invite new users, adjust permissions and review which projects each user can access.

Rigs

View the list of rigs associated with your contractor organisation. This includes rig names, rig types and any demo rigs that may be linked for training or testing.

Cost Contracts

View all connected cost contracts shared by your clients. You can access active, draft, pending approval and ended contracts, depending on your level of access.

There are no analytics or reports in this view. It is designed to give you a clean starting point.

Projects Dashboard

Select a project to open the project dashboard. This dashboard contains the plod list for the selected project.

The project dashboard allows you to:

  • View plods waiting for review.

  • Check plods that have already been approved and submitted.

  • View plods that have been rejected and require updates.

Plods

Plods Submitted from the Field

Drillers submit plods directly using the CorePlan mobile app. Once submitted, these plods appear in the Contractor Portal for review.

In the plod list you can:

  • Open a plod to review details.

  • Make corrections where required.

  • Approve and forward the plod to the client.

Reviewing a Plod

Click any plod to open it. This will display all details recorded during the shift.

A plod includes:

  • Drilling activities

  • Time logs

  • Shift information

  • Consumables and intervals

  • Attachments

  • Notes

  • Signatures

You can review the information and make corrections where necessary.

Activities Section

Under the Details section of each plod you will find the Activities Section. This timeline provides a clear, hour-by-hour breakdown of the shift based on entries made in the CorePlan mobile app.

Use this view to understand:

  • How time was allocated

  • When drilling occurred

  • Breaks or non productive time

  • Any downtime or operational delays

Time Usage Breakdown

Within the plod, time is categorised into the appropriate drilling and activity classifications. You can see this visually by checking out the Activities Timeline that is colour coded. These commonly include:

  • Active Drilling

  • Active Productive

  • Active Non Productive

  • Standby

The categories provide a clear record of how the shift progressed.

Approving and Submitting a Plod

When a plod is complete and accurate, you can approve it.

To approve and submit a plod:

  1. Open the plod.

  2. Review all details.

  3. Make any required edits.

  4. Select Approve to send it to the client.

Once approved, the plod will move to the submitted section in the project dashboard.

Correcting and Resubmitting Rejected Plods

If your client rejects a plod, it will appear in the plod list with a rejection reason.

To correct and resubmit:

  1. Open the rejected plod.

  2. Review the message from the client outlining the required changes.

  3. Update the plod details.

  4. Submit the plod back to the client for review.
